The Weekend in Bethel
This weekend we enjoyed a wonderful family trip to Bethel for a few days and had the opportunity to learn more about the Bethel region that used to be known as Sudbury, Canada. We got to speak to multiple Bethel residents, and one lady was extremely receptive to coming to Church soon in the great Pleasant Valley.
Friday we took a family trip through Grafton Notch and got to see the Moose caves and continued our journey up to L.L. Cote, a hunting and fishing outpost. Saturday we woke up to receive 4 inches of snow that continued to 8 inches. We enjoyed some sledding, skiing on Mt. Abram, fly fishing at Evans Notch, and finishing the day off with fireworks at Sunday river. We are extremely grateful for the church who extended much hospitality and love towards our family.
This morning, as many of you already know, I began my pulpit ministry at Pleasant Valley Bible Church right there in West Bethel, Maine. It was a great time of worshipping our Mighty God and joining in communion after examining and studying 1 John 1:5-10.
We arrived back home around 1:15 PM and were sure to feed the deer outback. We have seen a lot of activity out back and have had an 8 point buck come out each night. We call him “Tine-y”. If you desire to see video footage of him you are welcome to follow our YouTube page listed under “Alec and Bri Kindred”.
Once the deer were fed, I jumped back onto this week’s homework as I have two assignments due before tomorrow, but due to the grace of God, and the Lord planting a burden on my soul I was able to get through it in a timely manner.
Looking back on this weekend I think of a few things. When skiing on a mountain top, fly fishing in the river valley near Gilead, and watching fireworks light up the entire slopes at Sunday river, I couldn’t help but shed a tear or just giggle over God’s power, sovereignty, and goodness. We serve an amazing God that even though general revelation, is revealed to us. To enjoy some of these family photos I am sure my wife will be posting them on Facebook soon.
Moving forward I am thrilled for the opportunity to preach God’s Holy word regularly, as we will return to the Bethel region in just a weekend after next. We praise and glorify the Lord for all that He is accomplishing in the Western Maine region.
Have a blessed week.
